ABOUT US
Newbridge Cat Rescue & Rehoming Centre is a registered charity based in Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire, England. Started in 2007, the charity is run by retiree Marion Parsons. Unlike many larger animal rescue charities there is no team of salaried staff, just a handful of volunteers.
We often have 100 cats or more in residence, and we strive to do our very best for each and every one of them. Newbridge operates a no kill policy and we take in all types and ages of cats. We provide veterinary care where necessary and rehome wherever possible. Lifelong care is provided at the centre for the cats we are unable to rehome. At present our feline accommodation consists of 5 double pens, 8 smaller pens, 4 single pens and a block of 4 pens for isolation. All have heated raised bedding areas for the colder months and wired runs for playtime and fresh air. We also have a large sanctuary for the older cats that, often due to their advanced age, get overlooked for rehoming. Here they can live the rest of lives in comfort, with plenty of room to run around and, more importantly, stretch out in the sunshine when weather permits! We also have a cat room with washing facilities and pens for poorly cats. It is equipped with a sink, washing machine, food preparation area and storage. There is a log fire where some of our older cats like to congregate in the winter. As a charity, we rely on the generosity of the public for monetary and food donations. With the recent increase in the cost of living, we now spend approximately £20 per month to feed just one of our residents, plus the cost for regular flea and worming treatments. For any donations that you may wish to give or for further information on supporting us please refer to the HOW TO DONATE and SPONSORSHIP pages. All help and support you can offer us is gratefully received. |
